According to reports, Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny will join French Ligue 1 club Girondins de Bordeaux before the start of the 2019/20 season.

The Egypt international struggled for game time throughout last season, featuring a mere 17 times across all competitions as the Gunners notably reached the Europa League final.

Elneny joined the North London club from FC Basel back in 2016, and despite glimpses of promise, he has failed to nail down a regular starting spot at the Emirates.

In total, Elneny has made 89 appearances for the Gunners, scoring twice and providing eight assists.

The 26-year-old’s poor form carried over into the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations where the Pharaohs suffered a shock Round of 16 exit at the hands of South Africa.

Fenerbahce, Besiktas and AS Roma are also said to be interested in Elneny’s services.
